Dimitri Kneppers
Born in 1967 and better known as Dimitri from Amsterdam. He took his first residency at club Richter in 1988 and went on to the legendary RoXY, where his mixing set him apart.
He was among the first DJs to mix house records with breakbeats or drum'n'bass by melody and pitch. Real-time composition, a style copied ever since. Techno, house, electro, disco, breakbeats, he moves freely between them.
He played the Detroit Movement Festival in 2004. In 2013 a life-threatening infection cost him his right lower leg. He was back behind the decks at Trouw five months later, and holds a residency at Thuishaven for his ten-hour sets.
